The scientists had designed a new liquid. It was injected into a person's brain to give them a gift.

But the scientists got overwhelmed and started turning too many people into supernaturals. The supernaturals got out of control ... wild, even.
In a suicide mission, the Government shipped the supernaturals away to a small island and launched it into space. The island took like to a planet and the planet was soon over-run with supernaturals.

The scientists were too caught up in their own victory to realise 3 things.
One, the supernaturals were extremely dangerous to humans. And they could fight.
Two, they were mentally capable of everything humane and more.
And three ... they could reproduce.
